Eating Well in Porto
Tuesday July 22, 2003
Porto is a spectacular city, and a great place to eat. Imagine ordering a bottle of Dao wine, Portugal's celebrated red, in a little churrasqueira (barbeque chicken joint) and watching as the waitress carefully wipes the cobwebs off of a bottle of 1995 before serving it. Now guess the price of this wine. If you guessed less than 5 Euros, you are correct. The whole chicken meal with all the trimmings for two and an aged vintage wine came to 12.90 Euros, quite a bargain. But click the link above if you'd like to read a review of a great restaurant in the Taylor Port Cellars.
