Spain's North Coast - The Joys of Undiscovered Asturias and Cantabria
Tuesday January 13, 2004
Looking for a cool vacation this summer? Here is a recent discovery of mine featuring some of the best mountain walks in Europe, great cuisine, cider houses, prehistoric caves including the famous Altamira, and a climate moderated by the cool waters of the Atlantic. This place is a favorite for locals looking to escape the heat of Spain's interior in summer, and it's now a favorite of mine. We feature an interactive map of the area, 20 landscape photos enhanced by summer storm clouds, a primer on how to drink cider in a sideria, or cider house, and more resources for Northern Spain and the Picos de Europa than you can shake a mouse at.
