Spain: Empuries - Greeks, Romans, and Beaches on the Costa Brava

Wednesday May 19, 2004
The Greeks came to trade, the Romans to hold off the Carthaginians, and they came to live together peaceably at Empuries, a fascinating pair of ancient, adjoining cities in Spain's Calalonia region. Park your car and see the archaeological park and visit the museum, then have a stroll along the promenade or hit the beach--all for under three Euros. Read our Empuries Visitors Guide, or look at our pictures of the ruins at Empuries.
