Heidelberg - Old Europe at its Finest

Tuesday September 7, 2004
What can you say about a city in which you'll find the world's largest wine cask? (I'm thirsty? Let's go see it for scientific reasons?) Heidelberg is a University city with a great romantic ruin of a castle. I was impressed by the size of the pedestrian zone in the old town (the longest in Europe) as well as the quality of the beer. Get the tourist essentials on Heidelberg, peruse the Heidelberg Travel Directory, or see the expanded photo gallery of Heidelberg and the Heidelberg Castle.
