Europe Travel Tip: Customize Your Independent Travel

If you don't want to take a tour because they're not flexible enough for your needs, there are still plenty of ways to order up your own custom tours of a city or a country--or even a tour of specific elements of those places. And speaking of tours, Intrepid has announced its Grand Gourmet Traveller tour through the gourmet centers of France via train, bicycle, local bus, and metro. Sounds tasteful to me, as does Select Italy's Master Artisans of Chocolate tour. Not cheap, but we're talking the masters here, and Italy has some of the finest (and purest) chocolate on the planet--at least until the EEU intervenes to lower the quality of chocolate in Italy to corporate norms, according to Kyle Phillips, your guide to Italian Cuisine.
