Once, many years ago, I tried to carry a laptop and cameras with me to Europe. Not worth it. But today, with wifi access, 4 pound laptops, and light digital SLRs, I bring the lot. Lots of other equally insane folks must shoulder this same load on their vacations, because there are a plethora of backpacks on the market designed to protect both photo equipment and notebook computers at the same time.
