Europe Travel Tips: Unusual Lodging

Monday February 21, 2005
Lots of you seem to be in search of places other than the standard box of a room for your Europe vacation this year. What better than to return home and tell folks you stayed in a prison or a cave while you visiting quaint, old Europe. They'll be impressed, believe me. We have resources: Unusual European Lodging explained, and a directory of selected Unusual places to stay. You might also think of a self-catering vacation apartment or house.

Of course, people will reply something like, "Eeuw, a cave! How did you stand it!" Make no mistake about it, people have been developing Troglodyte dwellings for millenia, and the creature comforts inside may surprise you. I recently came across this excellent web page featuring a cave house for sale in Spain to show you what I mean.
