The Delights of Travel to Noord-Holland

Thursday March 17, 2005
The peninsula that juts into the sea north of Amsterdam is called Noord-Holland. This compact area has all the things a traveller would expect from a Holland sojourn: windmills, wooden shoes, dikes, and a brooding polder landscape. But there's more: a living museum where people work and live as they did in the 17th and 18th centuries, a resort town with auto racing, and the prospect of dune-riding your rented bike up the peninsula. For a map and more information, see Noord-Holland - Delights of North Holland Travel.

For more on the Netherlands, see our Netherlands Travel Map. For more on Amsterdam, there's our Amsterdam Travel Directory and a Virtual Tour of Amsterdam you can do in the comfort of your own home. Or, Why not make Noord-Holland an anchor for your Benelux and Beyond vacation?
