Turin is Changing

Monday May 9, 2005
Turin, Italy, is the site of the 2006 winter olympics, and everything looks to be on schedule. Special measures are being undertaken to integrate the games into the city of Turin itself. Perhaps more notable is the sustainability plan, which dictates that the games will have as little effect on the environment as possible. For example, if it doesn't snow, they'll make snow, of course. But in 2006, they won't be making snow from the water supply that locals use for drinking water, but instead will have giant barrels of water at the ready for snowmaking.
