Solo Travel - the Delights of Going It Alone

Saturday June 4, 2005
More of us are traveling alone these days. To the uninitiated, the thought of traveling solo usually brings on terrifying visions of loneliness. Well, solo travel doesn't mean lonely travel. Lea Lane has written an excellent book that will gear you up for the freedom and random delights of solo travel, called Solo Traveler: Tales and Tips for Great Trips. Click the link for a review.

The hardest part of solo travel? Most folks say it's the thought of dining alone. I have other ideas, and have assembled them in Dining Alone - Tips and Tricks to Get Yourself in the Solo Dining Mood. And just in case you think I'm nuts, you can test your theory by reading How I Travel Europe. If that's not enough, Meg Hourihan, in her blog megnut, tells of her experience in Paris: When a party of one isn't alone.
