A Virtual Tour of Neuschwanstein Castle

Saturday July 2, 2005
King Ludwig II built one fine, romantic castle between 1869 and 1886, called Neuschwanstein. It's been a tourist favorite from the start. Many tourists come to the little resort village of Hohenschwangau to get tickets to visit and then return after climbing up to the castle and touring its 15 rooms. But that's a shame, because the area that charmed Ludwig is still as charming today (ok, you'll have to look beyond the tourist flim-flam, but still).

In any case, we have some pictures of a castle walk and what you're likely to see, including tourists so smitten with the romantic notion of Neuschwanstein they feel inclined to smooch in the shadow of Ludwig's fairytale castle. See our Mad Ludwig's Neuschwanstein Castle Virtual Tour.
