In their latest newsletter The Friends of Roman Cats announced plans of a new volunteer program:
Friends of Roman Cats is working on a program to find volunteer jobs for people who would like to go to Italy not just for the sights, but to help out at cat refuges. Whether you are a vet student looking to gain more experience or simply a cat lover with a big heart and some flexible vacation time, we are looking at opportunities in Rome, Arezzo, Venice and Naples. Please email us if you are making a trip to any of these places and we will try to connect you with a sanctuary.

See their web site contact page for email information.
