Italian Truffle and Wine Season: Mmm, It's Gonna Be Good!

Tuesday October 17, 2006
Poking around the Italian neighborhoods of the blogosphere, we find out that the Truffle Season 2006 is expected to be the best in decades. Expect big truffles and lower prices, says Italian Insight.

On the Wine Trail in Italy reports that pretty much the same applies to Italian wine:

Abruzzo producers tell me the 2006 will be better for them than 2004 or 2005. Producers in Tuscany, although there was some spotty rain, seem to think the harvest is healthy and they appear to be excited. The Sicilians are happy, as are the producers in Campania. The cycle is in motion.

Well, dang, it appears time to make yet another trip to Italy to check out the wines and attend some of the many Truffle, Mushroom and Chestnut festivals.
