Question for you. Does Europe recognize us auto insurance or would I have to buy some there in Europe? Can this be purchased for all of Europe?

Do you mean you’re bringing your own car? As far as I know, you’d have to buy insurance in Europe.
If you mean renting, just as in the US, a rental car comes with some insurance, how much is up to you–and how much risk you wish to assume. Some credit cards provide additional levels of insurance, covering some deductables.
A buy-back lease car comes fully insured, as the seller has an interest in getting the car back in good shape.
