Horsing Around in Northern Europe - Irresistible Specialty Travel

Saturday April 14, 2007
You ever get a hankerin' to hop on a pony and ride into the sunset? Well, go east, pardner! Maybe to Iceland, where you can spend 4 days in the saddle nudging horses and their young from their highland summer pastures to their wintering home. Ride hard for 7 hours with Olafur, then slip your tired backside into an outdoor geothermal hot tub. Life doesn't get much better than that: Icelandic Horse Round-up (October).

If taking in a show involving rare horses is more your style, then you may enjoy Stockholm's Apassionata Horse Show on March 31. Terri Mapes has all the information you'll need to plan a vacation in Scandinavia over at Scandinavia for Visitors.
