Leaning Tower of Pisa Doesn't Lean Enough for Guinness
Ok, all of you who've been planning a trip to Pisa to see the world's leaningest tower, you might want to rethink your destination.
You see, the tower in Pisa leans a mere 3.97 degrees these days, thanks to some intervention. But the Schiefer Turm von Suurhusen is another story. The 15th century church's tower leans a whopping 5.07 degrees, dipping precariously due to the sodden soil of Germany's north.
Yup, it's a new Guinness World Record for things that look straight when you've indulged too much and you're wearing Bermuda shorts. See a picture on flickr. Check out the location of the World's most leaning tower on Google maps.
Um, maybe if we all went up the leaning tower of Pisa and hung off the edge, we could get the title back for the Tuscan city.
