10 Euro Transatlantic Flights?

Tuesday June 24, 2008
Ryanair is evidently moving into a new market niche, announcing a new luxury class that promises to make membership in the mile-high club easier. At the same time the discount airline wants to bring its bus-like economy "service" across the pond, according to a provocative blog post by Bernd Biege.

If it weren't for the "added fees" scam airlines have glommed on to in order to avoid raising ticket prices and participating in the free market--and you could actually count on a € 10 fare without add-ons--this might be some great news for cash-strapped travelers. In fact, if economy class fares were financed by risk-adverse rich folks who'd pay extra for special do-not-disturb services across the globe so they could join the Mile High Club with minimal effort, I wouldn't mind at all.

Maybe it's the Robin Hood thing.
