Wine, Truffles, and Pata Negra - It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This!
Britt Karlsson, founder of BKWine, must read this site, because her latest BK Wine Tours feature two of my favorite regions for food and wine: France's Périgord and Portugal's Alentejo, where they still make Vinho de Talha the ancient way.
Here are the highlights:
- Truffles, foie gras and wine in the Périgord (south-west France), including a real truffle hunt, a half day cooking workshop with duck and foie gras, and wine of course, February 11-15
- The Alentejo in Portugal, a wine region that is on the forefront of the modern winemaking in Portugal, with gourmet specialities like the pata negra ham, March 25-29
That's right, those aren't oddly shaped charcoal briquets up there in the picture, they're black Périgord truffles. And I've waxed poetic about pata negra pork in this space before, and even recommended an Alentejo restaurant in which to try some.
So check out the latest BKWine tours. And just try to keep your mouth from watering!
