Revolting Mannequins in Berlin

Saturday September 20, 2008
You know it's the art season when intriguing things start happening in mundane settings, especially in art-heavy Berlin. From November 3 to 10, "La Révolte des Mannequins - The Revolt of the Mannequins" will be performed in the display windows of the department store KaDeWe.
Similar to a comic strip, each of ten windows will tell its own story, which will continue to develop day after day. The mannequins will finally manage to escape their glass prison, in order to then flee over the KaDeWe façade and completely disappear. This extraordinary event is being staged by the French Compagnie Royal de Luxe, which is famed throughout the world for its spectacular theatrical events in city centers.

It's all part of the spielzeit’europa which is part of Berliner Festspiele.

Where do escaped mannequins go? I dunno, but I hope it's not the White House.
