Ferrari and Privilege in Milano
We're just back from a weekend jaunt to Milano. While sipping a cafe macchiato along the Corso Buenos Aires, along came a staggering number of police motorcycles, lights flashing.
"Do you think there's a famous person coming?" Martha inquired.
Then the red started--it was famous, but it wasn't a person--a long line of Ferraris, accompanied by the high-pitched whine of turbochargers and the beautiful song of 12 cylinders singing in tune passed by. The folks at the back of the pack were having a blast, losing ground, then gaining it back in an instant by jabbing at the throttle.
I've been with car clubs before, but we never had the privilege of a police escort. And remember, Ferrari is the visiting team in Milano, where Alfa Romeo holds the home court advantage.
Speaking of Ferraris and privilege, Sicily Guide says "Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher might buy Castle Tafuri located nearby Portopalo in the Syracuse province of Sicily."
If only I'd studied harder in racing school.
