Wandering Around Pistoia in Tuscany
Wednesday October 8, 2008
The Tuscan powerhouse cities that extend from Lucca to Florence are all pretty interesting. I just spent some time in Pistoia, one of the less-visited cities in Tuscany and really enjoyed myself. Piazza del Sala is the heart of the city, the ancient marketplace with wonderful medieval-era shops lining the pleasant square. Adjacent is the impressive Piazza del Duomo, Cathedral square, with lots of architectural eye candy and the center of an astonishing 7 museums within 100 meters. You don't have to waste time wandering around aimlessly when you visit Pistoia, but even that isn't a bad thing to do, as the guys to the left will tell you.
