A Mushroom Feast in Portugal

Saturday October 11, 2008
Convento de Belmonte, a historic Portuguese Pousada built on the ruins of Nossa Senhora da Esperança Convent, is hosting a Mushroom Festival through December this year.

You see, this is the time of year Chef Valdir Dudek Lubave walks the forest paths in search of wild mushrooms, then comes back to his kitchen to make you the beneficiary of his treks.

Here's what I want to try: Pineapple Carpaccio with Mushroom Ice Cream, Nutmeg and Oporto Wine Sauce. The pineapple is from the Azores. For my money, they're the most flavorful pineapples I've ever tasted.

Have a look at the entire Mushroom Festival Menu.

Not sure how this menu applies to me. Nice to read, but just an advertisement, as far as I can see. This posting was deleted at once, as it told me nothing of use to me, only what the author was going to eat. Oh, well, one more wasted website.
