Whether you're into the flaming pink plumage of the flamingo or the rough and ready French version of cowboy, you'll probably like the Southern Provence Camargue, a regional nature park south of Arles where you can rent a bike and flit amongst the clouds of resident and migratory birds while getting glimpses of some strangely familiar cowboys hearding the black longhorn cattle of the region, once destined to be the famed fighting bulls of Provence and beyond.
It's not all about suffering for nature, either. I mean it's France, so of course it harbors a Michelin starred restaurant. La Chassagnette is in a (former) sheep fold, but still...

If you're into nature and would like another travel idea, how about the Wadden Sea that straddles Holland and Germany? It's another coastal wetland comprising the Dutch Wadden Sea Conservation Area and the German Wadden Sea National Parks of Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, and it's a new UNESCO world heritage site as of June, 2009
