Bella and Baroque: Lecce Pictures

Monday September 21, 2009

lecce italy travel pictureFor the last dozen years or so, Lecce has been poised to be the "new Tuscany." Sure, Lecce is a compelling destination on the heel of Italy's "boot", but that's a long way away from the rolling hills of Tuscany, so those predictions haven't quite worked out--despite the fact that Helen Mirren has chosen to buy a castle nearby.

But for those of us who aren't all that fond of tourist hordes and like the idea of a pleasantly walkable city with inexpensive lodging and great food--especially seafood--Puglia and its Baroque jewel Lecce make a pleasant diversion indeed. Take a look at our Lecce Pictures and read the Lecce Guide to see if Lecce would suit you.
