WWI War Memorials, Battlefields and Cemeteries

Monday September 28, 2009

The landscape in northeastern France and Western Belgium is still scarred by the remnants of a brutal war fought in trenches scattered along the fronts. It's hard to imagine fighting under the conditions that World War I was fought under. Perhaps that's why WWI memorials aren't visited as often as those from later wars. Perhaps too many generations have past.

Yet the monuments and the scarred landscape remain--and they tell a story. We've compiled some interesting places to visit related to WWI: WWI War Memorials, Battlefields and Cemeteries.
