Fall in Europe: Vineyard Walks and Golden Light

Swiss Tourism has a great list of fall vineyard walks you can take in Switzerland. The first on the list takes you to Bellinzona, not a bad place to end up in the interesting Ticino region. Now is a great time to stroll through the scenic landscape enveloped in Fall's golden light.

And speaking of gold, a new museum devoted to the goldsmiths of Travassos, Portugal, a village with many gold workshops, has recently opened (weekends only). You'll see not only how a small village in the north of Portugal worked gold, but there's also a Copper Age crown and a Roman earring on display. See The Gold Museum (Museu do Ouro de Travassos). Travassos is located amongst the interesting towns of Braga, Chaves and the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus.
