Getting from Greece to Italy in Style—on a Bike

Does it amaze you that a luxury vacation these days, in which you pamper yourself by staying in premium hotels and eating food fit for Greek gods, can be done on a bike?

I like the idea of contrast. You get off your trusty alloy steed, all sweaty and malodorous, leaving it at the Hotel portal for your trusty page, stroll thorough the lobby to your swank hotel room, shower and emerge to the gustatory delights of a gourmet dinner?

Just think of cycling through the cradles of the world's most admired civilizations! We're talking Greece and Italy here, although they ferry you between the two rather than make you pedal the laborious land route.

All of this is possible, or at least seems possible, on the Greece to Italy tour offered by Ciclismo Classico. It stops in some of my favorite places, like Ancient Corinth, Nafplion, Matera, and Padula. There are even some summer discounts available.

Check it out, or search our European Bike Tours directory for more travel ideas. You can also go from Venice to Greece on a Ferry.
