Poitou-Charentes: Cognac Country

Sure, telling a group of your friends and neighbors you're planning a vacation in Poitou-Charentes would leave a stony silence in the room, but the region of France offers you La Rochelle (yes, I know, another silence, a bit of forehead scratching, but it's the third most visited city in France!) and the area around the Charente river is Cognac country.
