I stayed three days at Vancouver Studios, and came away quite impressed. Each of what they call their "small studios" is furnished with a two-burner stove, small refrigerator, table and chairs, television and comfortable bed, all for the price of a "normal" hotel room.
The kitchen is furnished so that you really can cook, although I didn't. Spices could be a problem, because there weren't any.
Coffee, chocolate, and a variety of teas were furnished in a bowl on your table, so you could refresh yourself anytime.
The Vancouver Studios don't furnish a sit-down breakfast, but offered fruit, juice, and energy bars at reception that you could take up to your room or eat on your way to your siteseeing destination.
The bathrooms were small, as was the room. I'll tell you right now that I'm not enamored with lots of unneeded floor space in a room, so it didn't bother me. I don't jog in my bedroom.
The single rooms on the top floor have recently been updated, so they sparkle (you'll walk some pretty wicked stairs to get there, though). Water pressure was enough to blow you away, so don't expect the kind of anemic showers some budget places offer.
And it was quiet, although I had a room in the back, so that might have made a difference.
All in all my stay at the Vancouver Studios was one of the best London stays I've had. The price was right at 50 pounds for a single (internet price). The price for walk-ins was 77 pounds for the small studio, so search the web first.
