Guide Review - Great Railway Journeys of Europe

Insight Guides, in collaboration with Discovery Channel, has published a series of unusual travel books combining factual information, practical information, and great photos. Great Railway Journeys of Europe is one of these books. Though it may not be a practical guide to carry around, it is a good resource when planning your trip. I would use this book in conjunction with a large European train map, such as a Eurail map, to make planning easier. Then leave the book at home and take the map, marking the routes I want to cover. It would also make a good gift for anyone who enjoys train travel, even if its just armchair travel!
