Paris - La Defense
La Grande Arche de la Défense. President Mitterand initiated building of 'Grande Arche,' which was to be seen as "a XXth century Arc de Triomphe." Danish architect Otto van Spreckelsen designed the hollow cube. It's really a football field sized white office building with the middle part left open. You can take the elevator to the top of the Arche de la Defense and view the heart of Paris.
