Salamanca Pictures - Spain Photo Gallery
The house of Conches is one of the most famous building in Salamanca. Dating from the 15th century, there is a fusion of Gothic, Arabic and Italian architectural elements inside. The shells are symbolic of the order of St. James, a symbol still used by those who make pilgrimages today. Today this building is a library, and you can visit parts of it.
