The Excavation - Bauladu, Sardinia
Here in an olive grove next to a nuraghe (stone tower), we toiled in the sun. For each olive tree ruined by the excavation we had to pay the owner. We also bought olive oil from him. The women called him "the feeler" because of liberties taken when they called upon him for oil. We usually sent a delegation to get oil after this fact was revealed.
