| For its small size, Panicale has numerous options for the traveler in search of more than a hotel room. | |||||||||||||||||||
Panicale has a number of options for the traveler looking for lodging. I'll concentrate first on the options I can recommend because I've stayed in them. For apartments inside the town walls, you could do worse than the Cesarini offerings. Francesco runs the website and takes care of the bookings. He will want to talk to you before you make your final decision--a nice touch to make sure the apartment you've selected will suit you. Francesco's mom, Gun, lives in Panicale and is your contact for problems you might have while you're in the city. We rented Apartment III, a nicely restored house built into the ancient wall of the town. Four of us (two couples) were quite comfortable, and the kitchen was adequate to prepare meals for six. Our stay went without a hitch. The Ceserini's rent a number of properties for the long or short term. You'll find information on their website. Another couple, Mike and Alice, who you met on page one, rented the Gallo apartment. The apartment used to be a cantina, a storage area for cheeses and wines. It's been made over into a quirky and quite modern apartment, located on the main piazza across from Bar Gallo. It's heritage is apparent if you keep the apartment closed up during hot days--it'll stay surprisingly cool. The Gallos are great landlords as well. There are a number of other options for visitors to the little town of Panicale, and we've listed them in our Panicale Accommodations Links.
