Welcome to the Europe For Visitors discussion forums. Here's where you can read and post questions, answers, and all manner of learned discourse on travel and customs of Western Europe. Got a hot restaurant or festival you'd like to tell us about? Here's the place to post it. Want to get some advice? There are hundreds of opinionated people who'd love to give you some.

You'll need to register to post. It's free and only takes a minute.

Just a couple of quick warnings: This space is open to the general public--so we'd like everyone to use language that promotes intelligent discussion of controversial topics. No profanity, no personal attacks--we'll leave those things to politicians on the campaign trail.

And wild schemes calculated to divest people of their money are not likely to last long on the board.

Have fun.

James, your Guide to Europe for Visitors

FAQ

  1. Q. Do I have to register to use the forums?
    A. You can enter as a guest and read posts, but you must register before you can post or answer a post that's already there. Registering is quick, simple, and free. Please join us.
  2. Q. Are there any types of posts that are prohibited here?
    A. We will delete any spam or commercial posts. Please do not post to sell something or involve anyone in a money-making proposition. Flames or rude / insensitive remarks will be removed. Users who are disruptive may be gagged at the Guide's discretion.
  3. Q. May I promote my product or Web site here?
    A. As with most places on the Internet, you may make your URL part of your "signature" by typing it under your name at the end of your posts, but please do not place commercial posts on the forum. They will be considered spam and be deleted.
  4. Q. Where can I get general information on traveling in Europe?
    A. Have you checked the Europe for Visitors web site? If you can't find information you need, by all means post your question here. Getting a consensus from our community is a great way to narrow down your list of cities to visit, or get specific information on out of the way places.
  5. Q. My question isn't drawing as many answers as I'd like, or the answers aren't what I thought I was asking.
    A. Be specific in your question. "What's the best thing to do in Europe" is way too broad a question for long time travelers to answer. Europe is a big place. When asking questions about where to go, make sure you tell us what your interests are and how long you intend to travel.
