If you're there during the harvest season, you may be able to see a traditional grape stomping in the Alentejo, as in the picture above. It isn't just for show--the Monte Seis Reis winery just outside the town of Estremoz uses foot-stomped grapes in only their best reserve wines. And their wines are award winning, and very, very good.
