Amsterdam's Airport is Big and Efficient

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) is located 15 km southwest of Amsterdam. It ranks fifth in passenger volume among European Airports. The airport is marked on the map with the symbol of an airplane.

Getting To Amsterdam Airport

By Car: As you can see on the map, the A4 and A9 motorways are convenient to the airport. From Amsterdam, The Hague, or Rotterdam, take the A4 and follow the signs to the airport.

By Train: There is a train station inside the Airport's central hall under Schiphol Plaza offering direct train services from the airport to Amsterdam Centraal station, as well as trains to other destinations including Berlin, Germany.

The Sheraton Schiphol (compare prices) and Hilton Schiphol (compare prices) are both located inside the airport compound. The Sheraton is linked to the terminal by covered walkway. The Hilton is a five minute walk. A new hotel, citizenM, is also directly connected to the airport terminals and train station.

Destinations near Amsterdam Airport

All of Holland is accessable from Amsterdam Airport. Besides Amsterdam itself, we like Haarlem, which is very close by, and nearly all of Noord Holland, north of Amsterdam. Of course, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany aren't far away either--and 6 trains a day depart to Berlin from the airport rail station, taking 6 1/2 hours reach their destination.
