Basel Guild Hall Restaurants - Basel, Switzerland

Basel's Guild Hall Restaurants are housed in evocative buildings from Basel's medieval past, many with fine restaurants inside. Eating in an historic guild hall restaurant is one of the prime attractions in Basel for me.
Restaurant Safran Zunft, Basel, Switzerland
The old saffron guild hall turned into a restaurant featuring Swiss and South African food. Nice site, with history, menu and descriptions. One of the treats of Basel is to eat in one of these guild hall restaurants.
Restaurant zur Schuhmachernzunft
The Shoemakers’ Guild Restaurant is located Basel's Market Square on the first floor of Hutgasse 6. Difficult to find, you have to look for it. Reservations are recommended.
Zum Schlüssel Guildhall Restaurant
Zum Schlüssel Guildhall Restaurant at Freie Strasse 25 was first mentioned in official documents in 1306. The guild was made up of mostly cloth merchants.
Restaurant Löwenzorn Basel
Restaurant Löwenzorn Basel was built around 1357 and recently garnered a special award for conservation and maintenance of the historic restaurant in the Old Town of Basel.
