is one of the most scenic cities in Belgium. Here we present our top choices for places to stay when visiting Bruges, Belgium--from two star to luxury accommodations.
1. Hotel Navarra - Bruges
This recently remodeled four star hotel has garnered a rave review from one of our readers, Kathy Love:
"One is a hotel suggestion for Bruges: the Hotel Navarra. I stayed there last summer and found it extremely comfortable, with all the usual amenities including very good, free in-room wifi, a fitness center, a wonderful breakfast buffer, and a private garden where guests can sit in peace (very unusual in the middle of the city). It is absolutely central, 2 minutes walk from the Grote Markt, and makes a nice alternative to the classic hotels on the canals like the Duc de Bourgogne. The building itself is a historic monument, having been built about 1600 for a Spanish nobleman and thereafter having housed a whole range of important people and institutions. It’s pricey, but worth it!"
Want to spend a few nights in a big room in a medieval, half-timbered building on the waterfront in the historic center of Bruges? The Hotel Relais Bourgondisch Cruyce has it all, and has garnered the 2008 TripAdvisor Traveler's Choice award for Luxury lodging, and a 4.9 out of 5 rating from Expedia users at the time of writing.
Built in 1869 and renovated in 2004, this four star hotel is located in the heart of old Bruges. Travelers cite the hotels friendly and helpful staff and the lounge with fireplace--perfect for those chilly fall nights after a day exploring Bruges. The location near the market square makes it perfect for finding restaurants and things to do--the market is a hub for Bruges' transportation system.
Demand quiet? Well, the Kasteel ten Berghe is out in the countryside in a park setting. It's also in a Victorian Gothic moated castle. You're on vacation, why not live out your fantasies? Best managed if you have a car, the B&B is three km outside of Bruges.
Folks like the location, the helpful and knowledgeable owner, the good breakfast and the cozy cellar bar at the Hotel Karel de Stoute, a three star hotel in the heart of Bruges. The hotel is located on a quiet street to the north of the market.
Looking for a small family run hotel in central Bruges? The Hotel Leopold, a two star hotel, might be just the place to stay. Small rooms (as you might expect in a two star hotel) on a quiet back street.
