Château de Puilaurens is a Cathar Castle that can be visited in Southwestern France's interesting Languedoc region. The crumbling castle is perched on a 700 meter tall hill. You can walk up from the village, or you can take a car from the village of Lapradelle.
This Cathar castle is mentioned as far back as the Tenth Century, and withstood attack by Simon de Montfort and others until the end of the crusades.
Château de Puilaurens is open daily in the summer. There is a small admission charge to enter the Chateau.
A holiday home with a view of Chateau de Puilaurens is available in the village of Puilaurens.
