It was our last day in Corsica; we were to take the 9am ferry to Livorno and at 6am the rising sun began to bleed red into our hotel room window. I rushed for my camera, snapping off shots of the scene from our balcony overlooking the sea.
The Hotel is the Hotel l'Alivi, just outside Bastia in Ville-di-Pietrabugno. It has a fine restaurant called l'Archipel; you can eat inside or out on a terrace overlooking the sea. It's a short walk from the hotel into Bastia, which has an old town and a Citadel to explore, as well as many fine reastaurants. Try one along the citadel walls overlooking the port and the city of Bastia.
We recommend both the hotel and its restaurant for a relaxing stay in Haute Course, the northern part of Corsica.
