The Chapel near the tower and Pousada is named after Dona Isabel de Aragon. The story of her life is to be found in the 18th Century tiles, many of which reflect the "Miracle of the Roses."
When the mean king came upon Dona Isabel looking to grab the money she had hidden in her apron for the poor, she opened her apron at his request, revealing only roses.
