You've probably never thought about visiting a Grappa distillery. Well, if you get tired of visiting wineries, why not see how Grappa is made?

Distillerie Berta is a great place to visit. They're in Piemonte wine country, near Mombaruzzo.

Berta has pioneered fine wines and Grappas. A great many of their grappas are barrel aged, as you see here in the refining shop--that's unusual for grappa.

But what's interesting is the tour. Grappa, being produced differently than wine, requires a different process.
