Hotels Close to Malpensa Airport
There are several hotels quite close to Malpensa Airport northwest of Milano. The selections below are both in an area of the village of Somma Lombardo called "Case Nuove." Both are minutes from Terminal One (the international terminal) at Malpensa.To get to them from the Autostrada Milano-Laghi, exit at Busto Arsizio. From the Aeroporto di Malpensa Superstrada (the red road on your map) exit at Casa Nuove. Both hotels have much scattered signage along the road. We were able to get to both without prior knowlege of their existance.
These are good options if you have an early morning flight and want a short trip to the airport free from traffic worries. For cheaper lodging in more interesting--but also more distant--locations, go on to page two.
First Hotel - **** Four Stars. The First Hotel is a business hotel with all the trimmings, including fast wireless internet. A trip to the airport on the First Hotel's shuttle takes less than 10 minutes to terminal 1. All rooms are air conditioned. A buffet breakfast is included, although in a rather odd setting that includes various parts of small aircraft strewn about walls of the room. Many flight crews stay here. Your first trip on the shuttle is free. They second ride on the shuttle costs you 5 Euros. A double room in July cost us 150 Euros. Wireless internet costs 10 Euro for all day (until midnight). There is a restaurant on the premises and one called La Quercia just down the street featuring an antipasto buffet and serving some good seafood dishes.

Hotel Cervo *** Three Stars. The Cervo is a ten minute walk from the First Hotel, and a cheaper option for those who don't need the ammeneties of a business hotel. All 29 rooms have private baths, shower, air conditioning, television, a mini-bar and telephone. There is a computer between the lobby and the restaurant for internet access. The restaurant is fairly innexpensive and serves quite decent food, but only at dinner. Try their signature dish, papparadelle with cervo sauce (venison). A double room at Hotel Cervo cost us 90 Euros in July. Reservations are hightly recommended.
