Karlsruhe doesn't attract many tourists. That's a shame, because there's a lot to see in Karlsruhe. I especially liked the museums inside the Karlsruhe Palace (1715). The palace is smack in the center of a "new" urban design in which streets radiated from the palace likes spokes on a wheel, which is quite distinctive on a map of Karlsruhe.
Karlsruhe also features a celebrated zoo, or perhaps more correctly a zoological park, where many of the animals can be seen from pedestrian bridges over the park (and you can thus avoid the rather steep charge of € 12).
