The London Eye: Take a Ride in a Pod Over the Thames

James Martin

The London Eye appears to the casual viewer like a gigantic bicycle wheel across the Thames river from Parliament Square, between the Westminster and Hungerford Bridges. It carries pods or "capsules" so the people inside can see all of London from above. You can get to the London Eye from either the Waterloo tube (follow signs for the South Bank) or the Westminster tube station (exit one and follow the signs for Westminster pier). The London Eye ticket office is located inside County Hall, the building directly next to the Eye.

You can also book online. A ticket costs 11.50 British Pounds. There is currently a discount for booking online.

A flight on the London Eye gets you a darned good bird's eye view of the best of London. There's a picture of the London Eye on a wet November's day below.
