If you're going to Italy, a good map is quite valuable. I've used Michelin maps for years, and I haven't gotten too lost yet. We end with an atlas of Italy maps which unfortunately isn't as detailed as the regional maps.
Michelin country maps are great for finding small towns with tourist attractions and facilities. Get a Michelin regional map (below) if you're going to concentrate on finding real out-of-the-way places in northern, southern or central Italy.
