Terme Tettuccio in Montecatini Terme

Virtual Tour of the Famous Spa in Montecatini Terme

By , About.com Guide

Terme Tettuccio is a famous spa in Montecatini Terme, a spa town between Lucca and Florence in the Pistoia province of Tuscany. Tettuccio refers to a small roof built in antiquity that was found over the spring that feeds Tettuccio spa.

As in those old movies, Terme Tettuccio is where you take the waters, meaning the spa healing experience starts with drinking different waters from four springs, all with different chemical compositions. From there the therapy is about relaxing, music, and for women, shopping (shopping causes anxiety in men, so I'm warning you, stay away!)

In our pictures you'll see the lavish Liberty architecture Montecatini Terme is noted for. A visit is surprisingly affordable, and there is generally live music being played in the bandstand.

For detailed instructions of what a treatment is like, see How to take the waters at Terme Tettuccio Spa in Montecatini Terme.
