It's been a long time since the Duomo di Parma, Parma's cathedral, wasn't wrapped in scaffolding inside and out. On a recent visit, we discovered that the work had ended, and the frescoes were once again vibrant.
We took a few pictures to give you some idea of what the Romanesque cathedral looks like. The interior art was restored by Parma Conservation, which is located in Chicago of all places.
The first picture includes some quotes from Charles Dickens. Dickens made some interesting observations from his times.
Parma is one of those places you should go, but probably won't have time for.
