Pictures of Ravensburg, Germany
Join us for a virtual tour of Ravensburg

From James Martin, About.com

Ravensburg was a leading trade town in the 14th and 15th century, and still continues to be one of the main shopping towns around Lake Constance.

Ravensburg, called the "city of gates and towers" is a great place to stop for a few days. Ravensburg has a wonderful old center with lots of cafes, restaurants and beer halls surrounded by medieval walls with gates and storage towers.

Ravensburg is a gaming city; the traditional company "Ravensburger" is known very well by youths in Germany as a purveyor of board games and puzzles. There is also a full event calenday featuring events and festivals all year around. Thursday open air concerts are held in the main square, Marienplatz, May through September. And of course, Ravensburg has a traditional Christmas market.
